Ph.D., LL.M., is an expert in personal data protection. He is a legal scholar specialized in Comparative Law and European Law and Data Protection. He is regularly invited to teach courses and seminars on comparative law and data protection in various universities in Europe and in the US. He is a Data Protection Officer for several IoT related research projects. He serves also as Scientific Director of Lex Digital, an Italian research center working on IT Law. He published articles on international law reviews and journals and contributed to several European research projects on data protection and Internet of Things

Ethical, Legal and Gender Issues Manager (ELGM)
Also Data Manager, he is responsible (with the support of the Ethical, Legal and Gender Board, described later in this section) for dealing with the following issues: a) Legal aspects: the legal issues associated to the deployment of GATEKEEPER tools and actions (e.g. IPR, data protection and access, privacy issues, ethical aspects, etc.), b) Policy issues: how new policies could help innovative smart living technologies get users acceptance and market uptake, Gender issues: the ELGM is responsible to supervise the implementation the gender equality policy of the project (see section 1.3.3); and c) ethical, security and data management concerns in data management.
